Our Plans For The Future.

Dalmuir Park Housing Association is no longer a young recently established operation seeking a role in local services. We are a mature organization with considerable experience of providing community based housing services.

We are using that stability, and the Association's capability built up over 25 years, to make a broader impact on the life of Dalmuir.

In this document, as well as the usual reports on our housing management function and our performance in the physical maintenance of your homes, we record our growing involvement in a range of 'wider action' initiatives.

Pride of place must go to the work we have been involved in at the Lanes where Tom McKendrick's design, with its clever local references, is the centerpiece of the environmental improvement work. New lighting and decorative fencing combine to create an innovative response to this problem area which had been dark and forbidding. Pedestrians are happy to use what is now a bright and attractive route from the station to the center of Dalmuir.

This is just one example of a range of projects that sees the Association using its resources and credibility to support economic, social and environmental initiatives that are helping to improve the lives
of our tenants throughout Dalmuir.

We will continue this work and next year I hope to be reporting further progress with our ambitious plans for the refurbishment of the upper floor of the Coop Building.

Although I have said we are a mature and well-established Association, we are not complacent and I know that our Director Pat Gilbride is currently looking at the structure of our services and staffing to make sure that we are best meeting the needs of our tenants. We know that we have to remain customer-focused and we will continue to seek your views on how well we are providing maintenance and management services, and also regularly canvas your opinions on subjects such as rent levels and allocations of houses.

Our future plans consider some fundamental changes in our organization to meet ever changing needs. We are proud to have created and initiated the CEL project..Creatively Enriching Lives... This visionary project we believe will place Dalmuir Park Housing Association at the leading edge of community and housing development.

To meet these initiatives we have decided to " re brand", our new identity will be seen in our new Logo, Web Site and future publications. Your comments and observations are welcome.

Yours Sincerely
Marion Birnie... Chairperson
