Equality and Diversity

We are committed to ensuring that there is equality of opportunity in all our areas of activities. Our Equality and Diversity Policy and Action Plan enables us to ensure that we promote a culture based on principles of fairness, dignity and respect.

Our Equality and Diversity Principles are:

• To ensure equality of opportunity and treatment of all people in relation to the provision of housing and non-housing services.

Visiting our Offices

• We display welcome signage in our offices in different languages and formats.

• We have a Loop system in our offices for those with hearing difficulties.

• We have conducted an accessibility audit of our offices and do so for any venue we book for events.

Access to Information

• We offer and widely publicise our translation and interpretation services.

• We will provide information in other formats and languages.

Monitoring and Training

• We collate tenant profile information and aim to tailor our services to specific tenant's needs.

• We monitor and encourage reporting of hate crime and challenge discrimination and harassment.

• We aim to obtain feedback from underrepresented groups when developing services.

• We record and monitor any complaints on Equality and Diversity.

• We ensure that all our Staff and Committee are inducted and trained on our Equality and Diversity Policy.

Contractors and Services

• We ensure that all our contractors are committed to Equal Opportunities.

• We share information with contractors about our tenants needs to ensure that any special arrangements or access requirements can be made.

• Adapt our properties to meet the needs of tenants or ensure that suitable properties are available.

• We ensure that there are no barriers to disadvantaged and under-represented groups participating on influencing our decisions or accessing our housing or other services.


• We practice fair and just employment practices and recruit employees solely on the basis of their own merit.

• We ensure that all employees are treated with fairness and respect and promote a culture that respects and values each others differences.

• We have made reasonable adjustments for staff with physical difficulties.

• We are proud to carry the 'Positive about disabled people' symbol to show that we positively welcome job applications from people with disabilities.
