Home Swapper
HomeSwapper is the UK’s largest national mutual exchange service for council and housing association tenants wanting to swap homes throughout the UK. There are currently over 700 landlords registered with HomeSwapper covering around 70% of the country and over 200,000 tenants.
DPHA has made it easier and quicker for its tenants to find a new home by joining Homeswapper – this means that you can register your home free of charge because we’ve paid the joining fees for you!
How it works:
- DPHA’s tenants register for free online at http://www.homeswapper.co.uk/ and enter details about their current property (including a picture if they can), the type, size and location of the accommodation they are looking for.
- HomeSwapper will automatically match you to any potential swaps and you can search for swaps both locally and nationally.
- You will be sent an e-mail or text with details of those matches applicable to you, and from there contact can be made and the mutual exchange can be applied for with the landlords.
- Each landlord has a mutual exchange policy and there are certain criteria which will need to be met prior to an exchange going ahead – however Homeswapper will do the matching for you.
Tenants who do not have internet access can use the facilities at this office and a member of staff will gladly arrange some time to help with online registration in our office.”
The Association will now start the process of phasing out our mutual exchange register and will invite all tenants registered for a mutual exchange to join the HomeSwapper scheme.
